* To understand the changes that occur to us while we are going through puberty
|
* Explore the elements of puberty and the impact it has on everyone |
Last term we looked at who we are and celebrated our differences in our 2BU day !
As we grow and get older, each year we go through different life stages and who we currently are may change as;
- We get older,
- Become more independent,
- Encounter different experiences
- Develop new relationships.
WORK BOOK TASK: Draw the following timeline in your book. On the bottom of the timeline write the 6 age brackets evenly spread out. Above the timeline write 3-4 points on the changes that occur during that time of your life. These could be physical, social, emotional, spiritual and mental changes. You may need to research some of the older age brackets that you haven't been in yet.

INFANCY ELDERLY
We are all unique and wonderful individuals. This also means that our body and mind changes and grows at different rates compared to others. Some of you maybe at the puberty stage while others maybe at the adolescence stage. Our bodies and hormones are different to everyone else, just like our fingerprints, so don't be too concerned if things are happening to others and not you. Everybody develops at different rates.
As we develop our body goes through many different changes , PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY and SOCIALLY.

You Can't Embarrass Emily!!!!
Let’s face it, puberty can be pretty embarrassing............... from strange bodily fluids to stinky smells! That’s why you’re going to write awkward questions about puberty to Emily, and she refuses to be embarrassed! Check out last weeks letters sent to Emily on the "You Can’t Embarrass Emily!" handout.
With all these questions, some weeks you may be required to research a question and help Emily respond. Other weeks your teacher will discuss some of the responses with you. Using KidsHealth.org can help you find a lot of the answers.
Now you’re ready to ask some questions. Go onto the Google Doc that your teacher has set up for you on the Google classroom and write your question.
Activity:- Watch the 2 video's and complete the worksheet on the link below the video's. Note any of the 3 changes that occur during puberty to help with the next task.
